This Constant Dread

That moment you realise you are alone,

In a darkened black hole.

No one can help!

At every corner you turn,

You are on your own you quickly learn!

Friends, family, doctors, there’s no one to help you through!

Waiting for the inevitable is all that you can do!

No more options, is a scary place!

When the doctors look at you dead in the face!

Confusion & dread that exists in their stare,

Willing them to give you hope, is all that you dare!

But no! ... another dead end!

Leaves you questioning when will it end?

My health is causing me so much misery & strife,

I truly have no quality of life!

Spending days ill and fatigued in my bed,

I would rather be gone, I would rather be dead!

Than suffering one more minute of this constant dread!
