Remember my affliction,
And all of my misery;
Of immoral addiction,
Throughout my history.
The wormwood also the gall,
That my soul has them instill;
Makes me to stumble and fall,
Totally against my will.
This I recall in my mind,
Therefore I am having hope;
As I wish that I could find,
Perseverance as to cope.
My affliction as I roam,
As my soul sinks within me;
For I feel so far from home,
Uncertain if I will see.
But the mercy of the Lord,
And such a loving kindness;
That can never be ignored,
Being filled with blessedness.
We are not being consumed,
Since His compassion fails not;
Until the day that we are entombed,
If continued to have sought.
For a new dawn each morning,
As His faithfulness is great;
As we pray by adorning,
Praising Him for what each trait.
The Lord is sharing my soul,
Therefore my hope is in Him;
Helping me to reach my goal,
So life is not wholly grim.
God is good for those who wait,
To the soul that seeks the Lord;
And the day comes at the gate,
If you remain in one accord.
