Though years have passed you stayed right here
Inside the hearts that hold you dear
Though at times they ache and cry
We understood our last goodbye
Expected was the outcome then
The suffering would come to end
But in its wake it left its pain
Felt till this day we all sustain
We miss laughter and meals with you
We miss your scent unique this too
Are but three of many things
Three thoughts well worth remembering
You were the best a mom could be
Withstood sometimes insanity
Of children yours all six you birthed
This bunch you loved of earthly worth
Each one of us have thoughts our own
A moment sad and cheerful sown
We keep well stored held closely too
Our deepest part of souls you knew
Though not here sometimes it seems
Each one of us will dream a dream
Where once was then a better day
With soft kisses, of yesterdays
Dear mom though late I wrote this one
To wish my best and everyone's
Of Happy birthdays where Heaven holds
Angel food cake with candles glow
Wish we could be part of this
To give one more a hug, pure bliss
To let you know that you are missed
Beyond the stars upon we wish
We wish you well and know you are
Within our voice whispered though far
A birthday wish if just in mind
To see again in Gods due time
Happy belated birthday mom!
Though this song was written for Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter, I wanted to post it in memory of my mother, Elvira
