“Can’t Walk Away”
From high above
the clouds
I see
the people
and life’s
travesties
the answers
that
I hoped to
find
are somewhere
lost
inside my mind
I’d fight the
world
to be with
you
I’d rather
die
than just be
used
I never
could quite
realize
the games you
played
were based on
lies
I haven’t the
ability
to stop the
pain
you inflict on
me
the letters that
you say you
sent
were never
written
never meant,
“I can’t stop
myself
from staying
my heart
you keep
betraying
if I could
leave
I’d walk
right out on
you”
the sun burns
brightly
overhead
you treat me
like our love
is dead
you fill me
full of hopes
and dreams
your words are
never
what they
seem,
I’m tired of
your lying
it’s me who
does the
crying
if I can’t walk
I beg you
to leave me
I never learn
please won’t
you set me
free,
my love for
you
is not
civilized
I’m drowning in
your pool of
lies
I want to be
more
than a pawn
if I was
stronger
I’d be gone,
“I can’t stop
myself from
staying
my heart
you keep
betraying
if I could
leave
I’d walk right
out on you”
abuse
is my reality
come claim
your shallow
victory
you keep me
just because
you can
I try and run
you take my
hand,
I’ve got nowhere
left
for me
to go
I always end
up
coming home
I pray each
day

that you alone
can set me free,
the truth just
keeps surviving

on driving
cause we both

your over
loving me

fool
