We have treasure in jars of clay,
To show the surpassing power;
Belongs to God to come what may,
And not to us to devour.
We are afflicted, but not crushed,
Perplexed, but not forced to despair;
Energy drained, but still not flushed,
But nobody else seems to care.
I was struck down, but not destroyed,
Oppressed but never forsaken;
But I cannot become annoyed,
Knowing that I will be taken.
For we carry the death of Christ,
He is manifested in me;
Because Jesus was sacrificed,
For all of my iniquity.
We who live are always given,
Over to death for Jesus sake;
And will be getting to Heaven,
Enabled to become awake.
So, death is at work in us all,
But life is also within you;
Since Christ catches us from the fall,
While we are remaining true.
The spirit of faith is the same,
According to what is written;
I believe and speak to proclaim,
Even though having been smitten.
Knowing that God who raised the Lord,
Will raise us with Jesus as well;
And it can never be ignored,
To know where we finally dwell.
Because it is all for your sake,
Extending grace to more people;
Informing them what is at stake,
Get to know about the Gospel.
So, we do not ever lose heart,
Though this shell is wasting away;
We are looking to a fresh start,
The inner self does not decay.
