The human touch is a wonderful thing
Peace and reassurance to us it can bring,
An arm around a shoulder or even a hug
Is far better than any powerful drug.
Human contact is important to us
We feel so much better so it is a plus,
A chat or a smile they go a long way
But I know a hug really makes our day.
A touch on the hand lets them know you care
And so their problems with you they can share,
A cuddle can comfort in so many ways
Helping some to face their long lonely days.
When on their own the contact is gone
The touch of a human they have none,
This is something that they dearly miss
No one to cuddle or give them a kiss.
How would you feel if you were in their shoes?
I`m sure it`s not an option you would choose,
I bet you would miss the contact very much
`Cause there`s nothing like the human touch.
