Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

Concerning times of this season,

To have something written to you;

There is a logical reason,

That you are able to construe.

You know that the Day of the Lord,

Will come like a thief in the night;

And it should never be ignored,

Of His Spirit to guide the light.

Is there peace and security?

When there is sudden destruction;

Having a painful scrutiny,

Causing political obstruction.

Labor pains from a pregnancy,

Not allowing any escape;

Leaving darkness for clemency,

Allowing your mind to reshape.

But you are not in the darkness,

Surprising you just like a thief;

Realizing about the starkness,

Because of your inner belief.

For you are all children of light,

Being as children of the day;

Because we are not of the night,

Since the darkness would make you stray.

We must not be allowed to sleep,

Rather be sober and alert;

That we are not slaughtered like sheep,

Thoughts of God through our effort.

For those who sleep will sleep at night,

All night long they had been drinking;

But since we are children of light,

Heavenly thoughts what we are thinking.

Wear the breastplate of faith and love,

And the helmet of salvation;

Being presented from above,

That builds up a firm foundation.

Christ died for those who sleep and wake,

So that we might have life with Him;

The Day of the Lord for your sake,

Giving you His spiritual vim.

Therefore encourage each other,

For building up your foundation;

Just as you do for your brother,

Enabled to receive salvation.
