Eternal Valentine

Some come baring flowers and candy in hand
Other bring news of extravagant dinner plans
There are those who race to the jewelry store
For gold shaped hearts, diamonds and more
All this for a day or certain time of year
To demonstrate love to those held dear
Forgive me if I don't fall into the charade
Or march to the beat of the gift parade
Even more if you have thought for one day
That my love for you has faded away
From the first day I fell and continue to fall
I pray you can see I have given my all
My gift to you is not made by man
Doesn't sit in a vase or sit on a stand
It may shine like a diamond but it can't be cut
With a beauty you can see even with eyes shut
My gift is a commitment your whole life long
That all the world will know where my heart belongs
And my dear Stephanie will eternally be
The Valentine gift God gave to me
My mission from the day that amazing grace fell
Is to fill your heart with that great love as well
So today and every day until death do us part
I give eternally to my Valentine heart
