Ode To A Windsor Councillor

There's a Royal wedding in Windsor
And just to keep things neat
The town council are planning to
Clear the homeless from the street
For we can't have Harry and Megan,
That's His intended new wife,
Seeing those penurious peasants
As they start their married life.

Now I'm not and never have been
One of that type of craven Royalist
Though my service goes to prove
That I'm still at heart a Loyalist
And when it comes to Harry
I think he's broken the mould
Not one of your detached Royals
That we used to breed of old,

And I can't imagine what
Has been his reaction
To the town council and
Their unfeeling action.
Harry is a veteran
Served his time in Afghanistan
And compared to the others
Harry is a peoples' man

So unlike those Windsor worthies
Who, instead of working for a better day,
Firmly close their eyes tight shut
To hide their social problems away.
So all you Windsor worthies
Get off your collective arses
And stop making this occasion
One of those sickly social farces.
