God is our refuge and strength,
Our aid in times of trouble;
To persevere at any length,
Pulling us out from the rubble.
For this is why we do not fear,
Therefore, we will not be afraid;
Knowing since that the Lord is near,
No need to be shocked or dismayed.
Though when feeling the earth tremble,
As mountains fall into the sea;
The waters roar from the tumble,
Waves tossing and crash to be free.
The surging sea as mountains quake,
A river will stream with delight;
Smashing against the rocks and break,
For producing an awesome sight.
The joy of the holy dwelling place,
The city where God lives within;
Having such compassion and grace,
Blocking any access of sin.
The city of God will not move,
Even from a severe shudder;
For the Lord causes to improve,
Since the Lord controls the rudder.
Nations outraged in an uproar,
While kingdoms are overthrown;
The earth melts as God will deplore,
What man does He does not condone.
The Lord of Hosts our stronghold,
Commands armies on our side;
Our protector who is bold,
Shields all of those who will abide.
Witness the exploits of the Lord,
Who brings destruction to the earth;
Never letting it be ignored,
Of creation and its true worth.
Stop your fighting and know your God,
Stop your striving and recognize;
Worshipping to honor and laud,
Stop your cheating and all the lies.
