if grief has a language
its the internal spreading inward to outwards I won't keep me locked away inside and hide myself I need to know my Grief Hello I say Are you my Friend Informer Confidante? as a creature of hope I find myself tied to you Grief keeps me alive connected to what's real sometimes Its expression heals reconnects me to the reality sometimes that reality is confusion Grief knows many names is over-whelmed and emotion-filled but sometimes chooses an emotion-less face yet I'd recognize Grief anywhere have you ever invited Grief in had a conversation made It more than a stranger there's no danger in it knowing you... only in running further away we've gained something tangible through our mutual association: I've found a Listener, Brother or new Sister perhaps a Father or Mother perhaps a small long lost animal self, I know a good and listening Friend Grief is the Star at the center of the universe and near my end How It keeps me connected to Earth connected to those who are both unlike and like myself Grief re-arranges relationships to everyone/everything all that lives, sees, flies and crawls Grief connects me to the Infinite and the Finite in Us All the continuous circle Hello Again, Grief again thank you for letting me know and letting me in how I'm still here I'm connected I'm still here I am human. ******************************************************************** work in progress directly to the page LEGAL COPYRIGHT FOR THIS POEM/WORK AND ALSO FOR THIS POET/WRITER/AUTHOR MELISSA A HOWELLS AND ALSO FOR THIS LEGALLY COPYRIGHTED SITE TITLE MELOO STRAIGHT FROM HER TILT-A-WORLD fEBRUARY 21, 2018 11:58 PM PST re-edited Feb 27, 2018 3:32pm PST there were some edits I didn't make and spelling errors. good thing I returned. re-edited 4/17/18 2:09PM PST for clarity and continuity legal copyright for this new version and its author/writer Melissa A Howells.
