A discarded table
When no longer in use
Will return to just wood
When it's been cut loose.
The same with a car
When its conceived as a clunk
It returns to just metal
And is regarded as junk
All things that are made
Return to what they're made from.
Is this not the established
Rule of the thumb?
But what about humans?
How does this work for us?
We were made by our parents
And we're all made of dust.
So if we're made of dust
Into dust we'll return.
But...wait...that's our bodies
And they have to adjourn.
God with our parents
Formed our bodily part
But only He could install
The spirit....the heart.
For we're more than just bodies
We were made living souls
God breathed in us
And in Him we are whole
We bear the Lord's image...
His likeness make known.
Reflecting His character...
His attributes as our own.
We were created in Heaven...
In the mind of our God...
Before we were ever
Introduced to this sod.
So where will we go
When life is over for us?
As the scriptures record
Our bodies return to the dust.
Oh, but our glorious spirits...
God created above
Will fly into Heaven...
Returning to our first love.

Genesis 2:9 “…God formed man from the dust of the ground
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
and man became a living soul.
Ecclesiastes 11:5
As you do not know the path of the wind,
or how the body is formed in a mother's
womb, so you cannot understand the work
of God, the Maker of all things
Ecclesiastes 12:7
and the dust returns to the ground it came from,
