I have loved, Lord have I loved, I have won
the prize of eternity and gathered flowers
from all corners of the world.
I have made the darkness brighter with my light
from my inner spirit, I have given back the bear
to the mother who lost her cub.
I have roamed in unseen areas unfit for eyes
to see without knowledge or understanding, in
realms of wisdom.
I have counted the leaves with water dripping
from them to the ground, have held a silver
coin till in time it did tarnished.
I have numbered the times a person smiled
with his own starving soul, without a feeling
or meaning, life was not treating them well, in
the darkness of their own behavior.
I have walked the pastures of beauty, laid in a
field of buttercups, drank the wine of compassion
and loved everything there was to love.
