Yellow Tulips

In the sunrise of my soul
Dreams unfold
Yielding fields of yellow tulips
That stretch far beyond what the eye can see!
Crisp petals, dew drops, green stalks,
Stand proud against the morning sunshine.
In the sunset of my soul
The twilight of my being
Dreams begin again and renew
The morning dew has long since dried
The petals now closed like curtains
On opening night at the town hall
Mysteries unfold
Boldly blasting and bombarding
Any remnants of sunshine
And are caught by the tell tale moon
In the wake of their madness
I, like spirits before me,
Fly past the newly sleeping flowers
And dream of tomorrow when they will
Awaken again.
Mysteries vast, deep, and wide,
Hold their surprise til the moon is in full bloom
And all are exposed for my innocent eyes to see
That they weren't flowers at all
Merely a reflection of my affection
For their tender beautiful mercies
That spread sweet perfume on my soul.
Alas, it was all a dream and I, a spirit,
Of ages past, remembering, forging ahead,
Trying to find peace so as to find my final resting spot.
Yes, I think it shall be in a field of yellow tulips,
Sweet perfumes bring peace refined!
