 Jagged

People say that love is blind,
With thoughts and feelings kind.
But words to me seem jagged,
While rolling through my mind.

I tried to write a love song,
But somehow it went wrong.
The words were sharp and jagged,
And they did not belong.

So my love song went awry;
It hung me out to dry.
My words all came out jagged,
And now I know just why:

To find love, you must live love;
A gift from God above.
True love is never jagged,
But gentle, like a dove.
