The moon and me

Soft moonlight bathes an empty room

It lifts the dressing table's gloom

Where once you sat and powder flew

What lipstick, Pan Stik, I've lived through

Soft moonlight moves from jar to jar

It touches perfume. pins and scarves

It wonders through your lingerie

Your stockings left from better days

But now you've gone and I'm alone

Just me, my memories and the moon

I move things round occasionally

We like to dream the moon and me
