Let me doze a little longer Let me doze a little longer Let me drift away To a land of milk and honey To a place called yesterday
Some say my face is ugly Some simply look away My broken back cause some to laugh I walk a funny way
Some point at me as I approach Some stare and crack a joke And press me in my wheelchair Which limb was it that I broke?
Let me doze a little longer Let me pray for souls alas Who went intact to fierce combat And body bags came back
Let me doze a little longer Let me miss the rising sun Let me join the stars in heaven
Shining hero’s everyone
