Wendigo

It was a snow barren land
When fate took me by the
Hand and led me to safety
and warmth of a well kindled
Fire.

There was something lurking
In the shadowy forest region of
upper Minnesota something
Beastly with a voracious hunger
As old as the forest, not any younger.

Some have lived to tell who escaped
this creature indeed escaped hell!
People of that forest know so well!
Born of the wind with its red eyes
Aglow, with its heart of ice stands
The Wendigo.
