I must say Declan`s hat was quite a task
How did she do it I had to ask,
Ingenuity - what a creative mind
This task she had herself assigned.
Eggs tumbling from the basket to the hat
Landing in feathers like a cushioned mat,
Bunnies and chicks adorned this hat
Butterflies and flowers but there was no cat!
Declan`s hat was indeed a work of art
Into this his Mum had put her heart,
It didn`t matter that he didn`t win
What mattered was his cheesy grin.
