Tamara Beryl Latham - The Poet

My Contribution to Politics

The elephant: too powerful
to envisage he is trampling
on the little guy.

The donkey: too powerless
to prevent the force
that stomps on him.

While this timeless
tug of war endures,
neither donkey nor elephant
shifts from his stagnant view.

Each is resolute,
neither giving in to the other.

And each
(the stubborn ass,
the mighty bully)
determined to follow
a 360 degree
futile cycle -
leaving

"We the people,"
(victims of their ongoing debacle)
with naught.
