THE RACE

There is a consistent challenge with each life.
God commands that we all avoid sin and strife.
He will grant us full membership in this race.
We must pray for the wisdom to stay in place.

There's no competition with other runners.
Each one has a path attacked by the Hunter.
But God renders wisdom to stay in your lane,
acknowledge His Word, and consistently train.

The goal, to steadfastly venture to please God,
and work toward eternity's promised reward,
will not require competition or attack,
just smooth, peaceful movement focused on your track.

Avoid the bold challenges Satan presents.
Recognize his efforts to cancel your sprint.
Know that the Lord is always Your Friendly Coach.
Let Him lead you to eternity's approach.

Though He knows the journeys and trials may be hard,
He has promised you an eternal reward.
Give your loyalty a daily, devoted try.
Remember for us, He had to suffer and die.

Ecc. 9:11
I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not
to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food
come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the
learned; but time and chance happen to them all.
