I thank God to whom I serve,
Giving me a clear conscience;
Along with courage and nerve,
Persevering with the patience.
I remember in my prayers,
Constantly through night and day;
All of the woes and the cares,
That seems to have come your way.
I remember all the fears,
Wished that they were filled with joy;
For chasing away the tears,
That have come out to destroy.
I remember the faith held dear,
That is dwelling deep within;
Continues to be sincere,
Guarding against any sin.
Remember to fan the flame,
Given as a gift from God;
As you go out and proclaim,
Show how to honor and laud.
God gave us a spirit,
Not of fear rather of love;
Powering our merit,
Having self-control thereof.
Be willing to testify,
Never ashamed of the Lord;
What He did do not deny,
Remaining in one accord.
For the power that you share,
From God through suffering;
For the Gospel shows you care,
Able to give buffering.
For, at one-time sin enslaved,
Until a holy calling;
And Jesus Christ came and saved,
From our vicious falling.
It was not for our deeds,
Rather for purpose and grace;
Granted for the unseen needs,
Before time came to embrace.
The Holy Spirit dwells in,
Guarding the good deposit;
Entrusted that you begin,
Sinful acts to inhibit.
