Poetic-Verses
'' Mutual Respect ''
When young we dream,
Make our elders scream,
With our attitude of, we know it all,
We truly believe that we are supreme,
If you need me give me a call.
Old fogey's we deplore,
Give us less not more,
They know nothing about being young,
Listening to them is such a chore,
All of them are so highly strung.
They've had their life,
With platitudes they're rife,
This world's now ours to enjoy,
All they do is give youngsters strife,
Our lives they want to destroy.
There's no debate,
Your ways we hate,
Without you we could live in leisure,
All you seem to do is berate,
You're jealous of us having pleasure.
REPLY.
You'll live with regret,
If you try to forget,
The influence we've had on you,
We are your mentors we're not a threat,
Without us what could you do.
Everything you've learned,
That respect you've earned,
They are gifts that cannot be bought,
In your mentors lives you should be concerned,
Lest you end up distraught.
Your curiosity we feed,
We help when you bleed,
Without us your enterprise would fail,
We're there to assist you in your hour of need,
To console when your life you derail.
You are making us wince,
Your mouth needs a rinse,
It is we who put you where you are,
We elders will say you do talk mince,
Who taught you to reach for that star.
The truth we smother,
We are sister and brother,
As one we need to connect,
Finally recognise that we need one another,
It's time for some,
