Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

I am a captive of the Lord,

Urging you live in one accord;

Worthily of divine calling,

For embracing you from falling.

You have been called through vocation,

And humbled by your salvation;

Patient gentleness from above,

Bearing with each other in love.

Make every effort to keep,

Like a shepherd over the sheep;

A bond of peace in your merit,

In unity of the Spirit.

For one body and one Spirit,

One hope that you will inherit;

One baptism only one Lord,

One faith that cannot be ignored.

One God and one Father of all,

When we pray answers our call;

Triune God who reigning supreme,

When confessed able to redeem.

To each of us grace was given,

A pardon proclaimed from Heaven;

The measure of the gift of Christ,

A gift from being sacrificed.

When ascended we were captives,

He gave gifts as each of us lives;

When He ascended, He went up,

To Heaven with the divine cup.

He descended deep in the earth,

Showing Satan of his true worth;

The lower regions to battle,

Stopping him slaughtering cattle.

Ascending above to Heaven,

For filling all things as given;

He gave some the gift as prophets,

Others were pastors and poets.

Still others gifted as teachers,

Some as apostles and preachers;

Equipping saints in ministry,

Building up Christ in unity.

The unity for attaining,

And enabled for retaining;

For faith and knowledge of the Son,

How the victory had been won.
