Poetic-Verses
THE SUN RISES ALSO IN PORT HARCOURT
The sun rises also in Port Harcourt
And casts her shadows forward
On the roughness of the matter mused
Kidnaps and hurried butchers
Hot hazy chase and nothing
Running ahead and stumbling
Pushing and gunmen coming
Running the streets of Port Harcourt
Resonate my feet to warmness
Taking the stricktest caution
That the street lies but common
May be signs of the uncommon.
The sun rises also in Port Harcourt
Prevails the thought uncommon
Tears of grief splash from vessels
To see but corpses common
