Echoes of the Heart

Rain Cycle

Dark and dusky
I should look weary
But no, I like it this way
I love playing on a rainy day.
Rain form part of my happiness
As I look back to reminisce
The laughter and pure joy
Surprise those tagging me coy.

Dark and dusky
I feel forlorn and dreary
Rain no longer possess beauty
It has changed with time dramatically.
The energy of the youth dwindles
Skin manifesting signs of wrinkles
Twilight downpour and deep emotion
Creeping slowly to the gutters of oblivion.
