If anyone is blameless,
The husband of one wife;
God certainly to bless,
Believers with their life.
For you must be blameless,
As a steward of God;
Wrongful times must confess,
To cleanse where you are flawed.
You must not be boastful,
Or be drunk on strong drink;
But always be cheerful,
Godly in what you think.
Lover of discipline,
Be righteous and holy;
Hating all kinds of sin,
Seeking the Lord only.
Hold fast to the Gospel,
Be faithful to the Word;
Spreading it to people,
Ensuring it is heard.
Many are unruly,
With poor attitude;
In being unholy,
As arrogantly rude.
For they must be silenced,
In such deceptive talk;
Some not be influenced,
The direction they walk.
A prophet of their own,
The Cretans are liars;
Evil beasts that condone,
In lighting the fires.
Testimony is true,
And must sharply condemn;
So not to infect you,
And not believing them.
So old Jewish fables,
Turn away from the truth;
Harness them with cables,
Not to become uncouth.
To the pure things are pure,
Not to be defiled;
Confession is the cure,
To be tender and mild.
