Many members, body of one,
The same is true for Jesus Christ;
That the Father had through His Son,
Allowing to be sacrificed.
All are baptized in one Spirit,
In one body whether Greek or Jew;
For salvation we inherit,
Single member being tried and true.
A foot can never be a hand,
Because a hand can never walk;
Lips and tongue can never stand,
Just as the foot cannot talk.
The same would be true for the ear,
Would not be able to see;
Just as for the eye cannot hear,
Nor able to pray any plea.
Ears never had a sense of smell,
As the eye could not take a breath;
But the whole body is a shell,
That starts to decay after death.
God has placed each of the members,
In the body as decided;
With a mind for one remembers,
Of how His Word is abided.
So just where would the body be?
If one member would not be there;
No eyes for the body to see,
Or no ears for the sounds to hear.
No part of the body can say,
They need not another part;
For the potter molded the clay,
That no portion able to thwart.
Those members that would seem weaker,
Are still considered essential;
Because the mind is a seeker,
Each member having potential.
Each member clothed with great honor,
As well as having dignity;
Because each one is a fawner,
And is showing no vanity.
If one member suffers all do,
If one is honored all rejoice;
To all the body not the few,
Lifting up the entire voice.
