No longer live of this place,
Rather insist in the Lord;
Vain living is a disgrace,
Whenever God is ignored.
Darkened from understanding,
Alienated from His life;
Ignorance is demanding,
More through the toils and strife.
Not tolerant of others,
For the hardness of the heart;
The wickedness that smothers,
Any goodness to impart.
You reflect indecency,
Practicing immoral ways;
All kinds of impurity,
With the greediness that strays.
You did not learn about Christ,
But was being taught the truth;
Not for becoming enticed,
Nor being rude or uncouth.
You were taught your former way,
To lay aside the old man;
For a new life and new day,
In sync with God and His plan.
A renewed spirit in mind,
Putting a new man in place;
One that is humbled and kind,
A willingness to embrace.
From the truth comes righteousness,
Holiness defeats falsehood;
God willing to shed gracefulness,
With love that is understood.
Be angry but do not sin,
After the sun has gone down;
No matter to what had been,
Go not to bed with a frown.
Show compassion and forgive,
Just as God in Christ forgave;
In harmony for to live,
Through salvation that will save.
