Let no one deceive you,
With any empty words;
Because not being true,
And fly the way of birds.
They make you disobey,
While crossing the path;
That makes you go astray,
And God will use His wrath.
God will surely condemn,
If you go in the dark;
Do not partake with them,
Only in light embark.
You are light in the Lord,
As children of the light;
Walking in one accord,
And doing what is right.
For the fruit of the light,
Consists in all goodness;
Righteousness for insight,
Godliness that will bless.
So, learn what is pleasing,
Suitable to the Lord;
Praying without ceasing,
Let not Him be ignored.
Do not participate,
In the unfruitful deeds;
Always anticipate,
Methods of killing weeds.
It is a shame to speak,
Shameful things in secret;
In darkness where some seek,
No remorse or regret.
Awaken O sleeper,
And rise up from the dead,
Let not the grim reaper,
Captivate you instead.
Christ will shine upon you,
Let him open your eyes;
To the light that is true,
So, you live to be wise.
Do not get drunk with wine,
But filled with the Spirit;
Fruitful part of the vine,
In all that you merit.
