Be Strong in Grace
Be strong in the grace of Christ,
Entrust what you heard me say;
Do not become so enticed,
That leads you to go astray.
All the things that you have heard,
In the presence of others;
Has been written in the Word,
Taught your sisters and brothers.
Take your share of suffering,
Endure as a good soldier;
Let Christ be your buffering,
A shield when facing danger.
No soldier gets entangled,
Things of everyday life;
In which can get you strangled,
Causing you hardship and strife.
If a contending athlete,
To be crowned as a winner;
He follows rules to compete,
Not be thought as a sinner.
A hard-working farmer ought,
Have the first share of the yield;
Partaker of first fruits sought;
Before reaping of the field.
Consider on what I say,
The Lord helps you comprehend;
Remembering to obey;
Although others may offend.
Remembering Jesus Christ,
Who was raised up from the dead;
His life had been sacrificed,
Rather than your life instead.
I still do suffer hardship,
As evil causes trouble;
But for my relationship,
Jesus pulls me from the rubble.
So, I endure all the things,
For the sake of His elect;
The salvation that God brings,
Him being the architect.
He reigns within if we died,
Through Him we will also live;
And we have never denied,
His willingness to forgive.
