“Overrated Love”
He gave up
trying to understand
why his average
looks
couldn’t attract
an average girl,
he had a nasty
habit
of staring at
the guys
when he saw
a couple walking
up towards him,
what is it
that he has
that I don’t
he asked himself
always having this
nagging feeling
he was just
doing something
very obvious
very wrong
a hidden secret
everyone else
knew
and no one was
sharing with him
some simple action
that all women
needed to see
before taking a
chance on you
what was it
that he lacked,
he felt he knew
his boundaries
not trying to
reach up and
grab hold of
some unattainable
prize
he liked all
the pretty people
that most all
the guys noticed
but seemed to
fall for the
quirky ones
that were
always a step
or two
out of place
not that it
mattered much
he couldn’t even
manufacture
some kind
of sign
that showed
some interest
in him
from the women
he runs into
on a daily basis
in less being
totally ignored
is a good thing,
maybe he is
stuck between
levels
and not
realizing it
liking the girls
that he’ll never
be noticed by
while not picking up
the soft smiles
and wide eyes
of the girls
willing to give
him a try,
oh well
he thinks
some people say
being in love
is overrated
all he knows
is that he
sure would
like to find
out
if that was
true…
