The Living Stone
Get rid of all the evil,
Deceit and hypocrisy;
That are taught by the devil,
With all slander and envy.
Yearn like the newborn babies,
Desiring spiritual milk;
Get rid of sinful rabies,
And clothe yourself in pure silk.
You have tasted the kindness,
From God His mercy and grace;
Gave insight to your blindness;
While feeling His embrace.
A living stone rejected,
Chosen by God, His delight;
As being His selected,
And so precious in His sight.
You are also living stones,
Spiritual house that is built;
Now being just flesh and bones,
But cleansed to be free of guilt.
I lay in Zion a stone,
A cornerstone so priceless;
And for the ones that have shown,
God will be able to bless.
Those with faith see His value,
But those who do not believe;
Will stumble where they pursue,
No salvation they receive.
They will trip over the rock,
Stumble since they disobey;
Because they run and not walk,
For they choose to go astray.
But you are the chosen race,
Those of a holy nation;
That the Lord has shed His grace,
Offering you salvation.
You were called from the darkness,
To enter into the light;
Leaving behind the starkness,
For doing what would be right.
I beseech you as strangers,
Abstain from the fleshy lust;
God protects you from dangers,
As long as you give your trust.
