Language of Enchantment
Email Poem | Today's Poetry

Abba Father
The Bible speaks about Your closeness...
Your amazing warmth and intimacy.
It tells us You are tenderhearted
And that Your heart has longed to see
Us running to You just like children
And climbing into Papa's lap.
Feeling safe and feeling special
As all the chains around us snap.
As we process this loving image
And everything  that it entails...
We see a completely different picture...
It's like our eyes have shed their scales.
We are so intrigued by Your desire
To be accepted as our Dad.
There goes that tough guy with a stick...
That real stern image we once had.
Yes, Sir, Your role as God Creator
Is surely one of awesomeness...
But, O, the one as doting daddy
Seems so distinctive from the rest.
You loved so deeply and devoutly...
 You sacrificed Your Only Son.
Of course, we take this personally...
And, do believe, should everyone.
You have adopted...made us Your children...
It's such a privilege to know
That we will have a Home in Heaven
With a Dad who loves us so.
Sir, we owe You the highest honor...
The best respect we can bestow...
Mainly because You are our Father...
But are our Lord and God, also.

2 Corinthians 6:18

"And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons
and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (NLT)
Romans 8:15
“So you have not received a spirit that makes you
fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he
adopted you as his own children. Now we call
him, Abba, Father.” (NLT)
1 John 3:1
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us,
that we should be called children of God; and so
we are. The reason why the world does not know
us is that it did not know him.” (ESV)
