† Son Of God

Jesus the only begotten
Son of God in Heaven above
Face never to be forgotten
Out of unconditional love

You were sent by God the Father
Through Mary and a Virgin birth
To become the world's Messiah
Dwell amongst we sinners of the Earth

You were the only carpenter
To build houses inside of hearts
Allow anyone to enter
And swear to them you'd never part

You gave them shelter from each storm
In their souls you set a fire
Promised you'd always keep them warm
If your home was their desire

Jesus the Rabbi and Teacher
Told disciples time and again
If they listened to their preacher
They would soon be fishers of men

You taught in all the synagogues
On the Mount of Olives as well
You talked of eyes with specks and logs
Condemned the hypocrites to hell

You were the King of parables
You'd say, "Listen if you have ears"
Antics that the High Priest would pull
Would become more than you could bear

In the Temple your anger burned
Because your eyes couldn't believe
Your Father's House was sadly turned
Into a den for Holy thieves

Jesus the only Good Shepherd
To watch over all of His sheep
To openly Spread the Good Word
Promise your word you'd always keep

It broke your heart when all your flock
Deserted you in time of need
Because they were in total shock
When on the cross they saw you bleed

Jesus the only world Messiah
Sent by God in Heaven above
To become this lost world's Savior
The epitome of true love

To save the world from being lost
You told your Father, "Here I am"
Crucified...dying on a Cross
You were the Sacrificial Lamb
