I am a captive of the Lord,
Advocating for you to live;
Showing He is loved and adored,
For His willingness to forgive.
With humility and gentleness,
And patience towards one another;
Pray to confess and He will bless,
Consider you as a brother.
Endeavor to keep unity,
Of the Spirit bonded in peace;
To enhance your ability,
For your hostility can cease.
Just one body and one Spirit,
While being called for one hope;
In order for to inherit,
Going through this life you must cope.
One baptism, one faith, one Lord,
One triune God, Father of all;
Your prayers will never be ignored,
Listen and He answers your call.
But to each one grace was given,
For measuring the gift of Christ;
As we are looking towards Heaven,
Letting not this life be enticed.
So, when He ascended on High,
He led captivity captive;
Giving gifts to men who comply,
Without a sin alternative.
The very One who descended,
In order to fulfill all things;
Is the same who has ascended,
To Heaven that righteousness brings.
He made some to be as prophets,
Some evangelists and teachers;
Some as apostles or poets,
Missionaries as out-reachers.
You are no longer a child,
Being tossed back and forth by waves;
Deceitful schemes that run wild,
Rather someone that Jesus saves,
But practice in the truth of love,
Growing up in all that Christ brings;
From Him the body grows thereof,
With harmony in all things.
