The Lord is my light,
And my salvation;
Revering is right,
In my foundation.
To whom shall I fear,
He is my stronghold;
Knowing He is near,
No other is bold.
As the wicked came,
Tried to devour;
The Lord puts to shame,
Made their plan sour.
My enemies fall,
As my foes stumble;
He answers my call,
To make them tumble.
An army deploys,
I am not afraid;
For my Lord destroys,
By rendering aid.
I have asked one thing,
What I desire;
To His House I cling,
Stay to admire.
To see the beauty,
Of God in His church;
For it is my duty,
Like a bird will perch.
For He will conceal,
Hide me for that day;
His plan will reveal,
The fate for who stray.
Where is the straight path,
To avoid my foes;
And kept from the wrath,
That only God knows.
Because I believe,
He is forgiving;
So, I will receive,
Rebirth for living.
