An Unopened Book
Those Words
They held each other,
Late into the night.
Gathered up courage,
The timing seemed right.
Looking in his eyes,
She spoke those sweet words.
He tried to stay strong,
But he knew what he heard.
He took but a moment,
He tried not to cry.
But what he felt now,
Couldn't be denied.
Looking back in her eyes,
He knew this was true.
His reply tearfully came,
You know I love you too.
Those words weren't enough,
He said those words before.
What he felt right now,
Was something a little more.
The path they've both traveled,
Was full of heartache and pain,
The trials were different,
But yet still somehow,
The heartbreak was the same.
So then quickly he added,
after all I've been through,
I would it all again,
Just to say I love you too.
It is funny to think,
How this all began to start.
Just two lonely people,
Mending each others heart.
Both were a little afraid,
to fall in love again.
After all in their past,
It didn't work in the end.
Late into the night.
Gathered up courage,
The timing seemed right.
Looking in his eyes,
She spoke those sweet words.
He tried to stay strong,
But he knew what he heard.
He took but a moment,
He tried not to cry.
But what he felt now,
Couldn't be denied.
Looking back in her eyes,
He knew this was true.
His reply tearfully came,
You know I love you too.
Those words weren't enough,
He said those words before.
What he felt right now,
