An Unopened Book
Until you are
The echoes of my memories, stir deep inside.
No matter how I try, from them I cannot hide.
The pain that my mind unintentionally brings.
I try so hard to avoid thinking of all these things.
All I can do is tell my mending heart.
You won't know you're okay, until you are.
I can black out my room, let no light shine through.
Lay in my bed, fill my thoughts of what i need to do.
Or I can go out with each step let a new adventure begin.
Let joy fill my heart, decide i cannot let saddness win.
All I can do is tell my mending heart.
You won't know you're okay until you are.
You will go day by day surviving life.
Each day will get brighter as you step into the light.
One day you will wake up, you find you can breathe.
You find yourself, and finally you'll be free.
You'll no longer have to tell your mending heart.
Cause it's that day that you know that you are.
