An Unopened Book

There was you

If I had known you were there,
All this time.
All of this sadness I felt,
Would've left my mind.
If I had known where this journey would go.
I would've stayed strong, not given up; lose hope.
If I had known that somewhere there was you.
I would've have kept my faith in love, if I only knew.

If I had known that there was a love like this,
I would've saved every embrace, every tender kiss.
Now standing here, looking into your perfect eyes.
I can't help but think of all of those wasted times.
Time that I could've been spending here with you.
Lost here in a dream, if I only knew.

Now that I found you, I will do my best so you can see,
I have learned from my mistakes, now you'll have the best of me.
Now when life gets hard, I know I will make it through.
If I had know that after all those times, there was you.
