It begins so Innocently, a welcome sight for many, yet I
Feel tears sting my eyes as I stand at the window
Gazing at the first flakes falling, from a charcoal sky
Drifting silently past barren trees, falling silently to the ground

Snow has always been an enemy to me, Ironic, how
Very fragile a snow flake is, how quickly it can
Vanish, cupped in your hand, yet when Innumerable
Numbers of them join forces with the wind...

Avalanches, weather related auto accidents, loss of
Power, roofs caving in, Impassable roads, store shelves
Empty, Skiing deaths, the homeless freezing, but I'm OK
Locked inside watching, my white Prison, fall from the sky.
