Spokes Spoken

there are themes to my words
they begin with me in the very center
and lines lead out from there

many spokes on a wheel spoken

they are messages from my universe
life according to Meloo
and Straight From My Tilt-a-World
which is my heart
my center beating

its the best way I can ambassador myself
my poetry is my Intro
my greeting
my statement ongoing
a knowing taken from my existence
experience has taught me not to keep it all
zipped up tight

living is so much easier
when you say what you ought
and not what you might

no thumb prints on my forehead
no jack boot up my backside
my terms or no terms
but if you are kind enough
and can listen
I will compromise
but never myself

my words are my spokes spoken
from my heart

they may last only until
my last breath is taken
but I will say them
with as much strength, dignity and grace
as I can muster

while I am still here
no one locks me away in the closet
nor says
shut your mouth
