Moths on Mars

The news in the forest was strange and

Bizarre, a note in the post said they’d

Found moths on Mars. A ripple of water

In fact quite a lot and sipping her fill

A pretty young moth.

So the next night a rabbit, a duck and a

Swan, gathered to stare at the sky up

Above. They’d heard about spacemen and

Satellites too, but to hear of a moth so far

Off what a hoot!

She flew under the ice to the south so

They heard, a red letter day thought

A wise mocking bird, a time to rejoice

Thought a frog and a lark, no humans

In space, but they’ve found moths on

Mars.
