LET THE HARLOT LEAVE!

Lingers a woman on and on
Round and round the silent street
Looking for some man to come
Drop a coin for traded sex

When times turned nicer, my dear
They stopped to loiter about
Looked for warm hotels and stayed
Kept appointments with dead men.

Has a notebook in her hand
Where she keeps the fees and debts
Certain names that owe her debts
Ticking too each one who pays.

No one was but to sell sex
Men were to control themselves
And women too how they feel
And marry when but of age.

Sack the harlot; let her leave!
Let no trace of her be seen
Behind paw-paw trees or streets
Let no harlots live with man!
