THE GOLD MAN

Praising, with shock I saw one day
Descend into the town I was-
The spot of town I still can tell –
A man-like sparkling golden BEING.

I did not see His face or feet
His glories are above these lips
Beside the Pharmacy's sharp bend
I saw this tallest golden BEING.

His tallness I cannot explain
His gold, like bright burning sulfur
Of glassy shine and yellow spread
A condensed gold of pure glistening.

He did walk past in swiftly walk
I saw His glory pure and tall
He did all blessedness command –
Walking the street – the golden Man.
