THE CHEERS OF TONADO

Warm morning brings the greatest joy
To tell again the saddest ploy
On lips that have never but sung,
Peeping at clouds for something strong.

Away with all my vests of rest;
I'm but a guard and love my trade.
May hang on hills tonight my health;
I watch the sky with all my breath.

To speak of sleep, that baffles me.
I wake in cold and it's my fee
Any moment might take the lanes;
The hard chorus that once brought pains.

To swim on forms of empty joys?
And bang again the party glass?
And weave the clutters of a fan? –
I watch the sky – let me alone.

It is around – the Vampire!–
With looks that hatred does inspire.
I'll sell again my shipment cheap.
‘Twill kill once more upon heap.
