I SEE THE FUTURE (To the Holy Spirit who bore me through those times.)
I see the future
What sparkling future this I've find!
Transcends my passions
My choice despite all that're around.
To form reactions?
I'd study now forgetting most.
Of all my passions
I choose the very one I sight.
I'll follow steadily;
Let patience guide me through my flight –
Though burnt foot cautions –
Into that glorious Canaan land.
I'll forget most things
They do not match with what I've found
My holy trekking
Steadfastness is but my demand.
One more step forward
I feel the heavens opening now
I've sacked the glad thought
I'll be on my assignment now.
Control my nerved wish;
Send me quickly to where to be!
Why here but standing?
Arouse my thoughts to that blest call!
I've grabbed the future
The latent peace and costly pranks
That brought me over
Upon this treasure are not found.
