WINE AND GATES

Spoken To Dark Places, Abbreviated With Interest

Laugh in the lime light
Spoken words, once so fallible, but now honest
To wish in the hands of other's, might
Well enough alone, be the way to keep a ruse for lest

Shadows creep like favorites and flavors of kind
Simple butter and the smile in a vegetable, the walk of proof
That I know the existence of another, to each their mind
Waiting on the truth, is this laugh a power's that begin, with the aloof?

A sunny day, with becoming hour's, for friendship
The walking and talking we enjoy, is a levity on the lip's
Say with me the share of an eye, loud and brash, as if it
When all of a sorry keep, should know the better of when to have whit's

Walk and talk we do
The minority of flaws taken to realization for the best of a world has to offer
Been the take, the stout make of reason, in the clashes we find, who
We ask, is it ever so gentle to mistake a friend for a reach and preach of laughter?

But shadows know a care, lost to humility and fascination so around
That beginning smiles we have, the rue of compromise to see the ends of all things
Why the grin of uncertain days come and gone with angry affluency, a spirit bound...?
Is no joke, except for what it can steal in a kiss, and the irony we blessed

Simple?
Comes the unerring reply, laughing my head off, for the drop of sincerity in the way
Will I come of age, or is the denunciation of misery, so profound that somebody gave a hell?
What are we about?! like a voice that dreamed while speaking to you, my world has come of age

Seasoned observation and muse of inner most desire, the lucre of an eye to blink
And the martyrdom of sincerity anew, with a problem in each hand, to know a courtship
That has sensed the indignancy of me, like a friendship at the brink
Of a new drama for the heart of days, we know can be, the essence of what was, love's lip
