The long shadows fade away, and with them, my last
hope, I will never find my way home in the darkness
the cloud covered sky, obscured a sliver, of quarter moon
I group in the blackness, searching for some
kind of shelter, I feel Insects crawling on me
I hear the sounds of wild animals, and tremble
Fear grips me and a silent scream dies in my
throat, I mustn't let them hear me, hoping
they can't smell fear or the human scent
I stumble into what seems to be a large
patch of fallen trees and crawl between the
largest two, I cover myself with dead branches
I let my tears fall silently, and wonder what
possessed me to act so recklessly, leaving a
friends house so late at night to walk home
I had gotten really nervous when Cici had called some guys
to come over, her Parents were gone for the night, a fact I
hadn't told my folks, they would not have let me go
When I protested she told me I was being childish
when the guys arrived, three of them, they brought
alcohol and from their smell, marijuana too
Everything in me said this is a bad situation, I
decided after one of them tried to kiss me, I
couldn't stay there, I left through the back door
All I could think about was getting home, I stopped
running, caught my breath and pulled the phone out of
my pocket, to call my parents, only to find it was dead...
