 The  Enemy  Within

Every  happiness  you  reach  for,  falls  thru  your  hands
As  if  it  were  but  water,  swept  away  in  a  tidal  wave  of
Defeat,  your  mind  always  searching  for  peace,  a  peace
 That  always  eludes  It

Floundering,  in  a  dark  pool  of  hopelessness,  desperate
To  be  free  from  your  tormenter,  wanting  at  any  cost
To  escape,  but  your  enemy  lives  inside  you,  an  Invisible
Enemy,  that  will  cling  to  you,  until  death  do  you  part

This  faceless,  formless  capture,  does  not  possess  compassion
Doesn't  know  the  meaning  of  pity,  nor  cares  with  whom   it
Resides,  never  rests  day  nor  night,  coming  to  you
In  nightmares,  an  invisible  captor,  his  name  is  depression.
